100th OPEN WATER
An International Juried Exhibition in Water Media
Exhibition Dates September 11 – October 2, 2025

OPEN WATER 2025 will be the 100th Annual Juried Exhibition held by the Canadian Society of Painters in Water Colour. We are proud to be presenting this exhibition at Teichert Gallery, 1723 Hollis Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. It will feature watercolour and watermedia paintings from Canadian and international artists.

Awards
A.J. Casson Award: Awarded to the best painting in the exhibition, this bronze medal, in honour of one of the CSPWC’s founding members, was inspired by one of Casson’s masterworks. It is accompanied by a CA$2,000.00 cash award. Open to all entrants.

Sally Jarvis Sloan Award: Awarded to artwork of exceptional quality in Sally Jarvis Sloan’s honour through her bequest to the society. $2,500 Cash Award. Restricted to Canadian CSPWC Elected Members only.

Carl Schaefer Award. Sponsored by the William R. and Shirley Beatty Foundation. $500 Cash Award. Open to all entrants.

Charles Comfort Award. Awarded to a figurative work of exceptional quality. This is a medal award (cast bronze valued at $500, no cash award) sponsored by the CSPWC in honour of one of the CSPWC founding members. Open to all entrants.

Endeavours Art Stuff Award , $500 value, Endeavours Gift Card and Product Award. Canadian entrants only.

Gwartzman’s Art Supplies Award: $500 Product award. Open to Canadian entrants only.

Legion Paper Award. $400 Product Award of a variety of artist’s papers. North American entrants only.

Youth Awards:
CSPWC Inspiration Award: $900 Product award from Elected members of the CSPWC.

Shoal Cove Award: $500 Product award from Shoal Cove Sales.
